OCR: About Passing Notes Vannevar Bush's 1945 article, "As We May Think" provided the model for Hypercard. He described the "memex", a computerized library thru which the user weaves his own unique "associative trails" that link diverse facts into a coherent arguement. The trails can then be passed from one memex to another with each user able to add his own links. PASSING NOTES is a self-contained "associative trail". If we had the memex, we'd have an online library for reference; as it is, we'll have to do things the old fashioned way- a bibliography.
